Design & Creativity

The Age of Beautiful Sameness

1 min read

Beautiful design has never been easier to achieve than it is today!

We have faster tools, endless references, and AI that can generate dozens of ideas, images, and visual directions within minutes.

But somewhere in the middle of all this beauty, I started noticing something strange:

Everything looks beautiful… and everything is starting to look the same!!

The same compositions, the same mockups, the same lighting, the same imagery and typefaces, and sometimes even the same way of presenting an idea.

The challenge is no longer our ability to create something beautiful, but our ability to create something with a character of its own.

For me, creativity doesn’t mean stepping away from new tools or ignoring what’s happening around us. Quite the opposite — I use them and benefit from them, but I always try not to let the tool do the thinking for me.

Because design, in the end, isn’t simply a beautiful outcome.

It’s a decision.

A point of view.

And a detail that perhaps no one will ever notice!

Some of those details take me a long time — and sometimes frustrate Saeed Al-Bakri, who always tells me:

“You spend too much time on details no one else will notice.”

Maybe you’re right, Mr. Saeed…

But sometimes, **the details no one notices are exactly what make the work different.**

And I believe the real challenge for designers today is no longer:

How do I create something beautiful?

But:

How do I create something with a distinctive signature that can’t simply be repeated?
